The sufferer begins to doubt their abilities and self-worth, and this could cause a downward spiral. They may feel as if something is permanently wrong with them.

A lack of confidence needs to be tackled in the right way because this feeling if left to fester, can lead to some very negative results.

Work on your self-image

How you view yourself is fundamental to self-esteem. If you look after your body, it will look after you. So get out there and do some exercise.

You don’t have to run a marathon, you could go for a walk or cycle, or join a local dance class. Never underestimate the feel-good factor of exercise.

In addition to this new more active you, go out and purchase a new wardrobe. Throw some colour on and brighten things up a bit. You could also spruce yourself up by having a hair-cut and colour, or seeking Hair loss treatments if you are losing hair, this can make you feel like a new person again.

You could also look into having those teeth straightened or whitened. If you invest time and money into yourself by making an effort to look your best, your new-found resolve will radiate out to other people. Nothing feels better than being told how good you’re looking.
