Love Yourself By Installing A Wellbeing Routine Into Your Lifestyle

In order to keep myself happy and healthy, I always give myself a wellbeing routine sometimes during the week.

If you don’t know what a “wellbeing routine” is, it is a routine you do daily (or sometimes) whenever you invest time to self-care. Such as, putting on facemask every Sunday of the week, eating healthy 3 times a week, etc.

Reading this could inspire you to create your own wellbeing routine too. The bonus part is that it can be a great way to improve your mood, help your body system and be more organised.

It’s fine if you miss a day or two when your schedule is full. Sometimes, we can’t always be flawless and do everything all at once.

I’ll be categorising my wellbeing routine in 4 main categories: Daily, Somedays, Sunday & Mon/Tues.

Daily

I do nearly every day.

Some days

Only days when I’m not fully packed or just days when I really need to do it. You know, I really tried with trying to do these tasks every day but not everyone is perfect. Nor am I. That’s why I try as best as possible to add these to my daily routine.

Sunday

Sundays are my relaxing days. I use this day to just chill and take good care of myself.

Mondays & Tuesdays

These days are free until I start university. So I take advantages of Mon & Tues for physical health.

Daily

  • After every skin cleansing, I use Sukin – Hydrating Mist Toner to refresh and heal my face, making it more glowy and less “tone awkward”.
  • I take my health supplements daily since I stay in the house all week and never go out. I have troubles “swallowing” (no puns intended) tablets so instead, I intake gummies (it’s much easier!).
    What multivitamins do I use?
  1. Nature’s Way – Multi-Vitamin, VitaGummies for Adults
  2. Nature’s Way – Vita Gummies, Adult Fibre
  3. Cenovis Vitamin C 500mg Sugarless 100 Tablets
  • Home exercise. Normally, I don’t go to GYMs because I got no money to buy a membership when I’m already spending other monthly payments on my blog.
I use to walk home often from public school because I lived 20 mins away but after dropping out to do online school, I’m stuck at home all day.
Thank god there are free home exercise apps and videos that exist and can be done anywhere. I use a free exercising app called 30 Day Fitness Challenge (IOS/Android). I add in my BMI (body mass index) so that I can keep track of my weight and height. It gives me options for exercises that suit my need. For example, if you want to focus on legs or abs, then you do the legs or abs course.
  • Drink Plenty of Water. There are many benefits of drinking water daily such as dehydration, skin complexion, reducing headaches and much more.
It is highly recommended that you drink water daily. I always have two water bottles with me: one on my desk and one of my bedside table.

Somedays

  • Journaling. I did admit at the start of the year that I would make it my goal to journal every night. Sadly, lack of motivation for me to write in my journal every night seems like a hazard and I started to write less and less.
But, that doesn’t mean I stop writing! I’m like halfway completed with my journal and I would write only on days where I would have many thoughts or events that happened that day.
  • Meditating. At the start of this year, I ended up meditating until my relatives came to stay with us for a few weeks (of course, if you live in an Asian family, you’re gonna have to suffer loud conversations till 1 am!). After they left, I ended up meditating for a few days and stopped again just because I’m just too lazy.
But, if you’re the type of person who stresses out or has a bad temper, meditation is a recommend.
Throughout the days that I stopped meditating, I ended up being cranky, overwhelmed, annoyed and pretty much frustrated. I’m trying to get back into the “meditating spirit” by starting off slowly (5-10 mins a night) and then climbing up the ladder when I get used to it. If I skipped a day of meditating, then I would have to restart back to 5 minutes the next time I meditate.

Sunday (Relax Day)

  • I use a facemask. The facemask I use is called Swisse – Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask. I only use this every Sundays because usually, with facemasks, you gotta leave it on your face until it becomes hardened.
During my weekdays, I don’t have the time to be patient to leave my facemask to “clay up” so I use my Sundays for that since it’s a break day.
  • Shopping. I must admit, even as a broke student, going out, spending or chilling with my family or friends helps me relieve stress. Sometimes, I don’t even spend anything!
Yet I still feel like I had a good and productive day going out. On Sundays, everyone is at home so we tend to go out and just buy groceries or go on a shopping spree for the products we need.
