Use these Pinterest Marketing Strategies to Increase Traffic
Whether you're new or not on Pinterest, you're always looking for ways to increase your impressions, engagement and traffic. That's why you need to learn about the Pinterest marketing strategies in 2020.
Pinterest has been changing throughout the years which means you need to know the new Pinterest strategies. Something that had been a great traffic grabber a year ago could be potentially useless now.
So in this guide, I'll share with you the tricks for winning with these Pinterest strategies from creating stylish pins to how much times you should be sharing daily.

Create Multiple Images using Different Styles & Techniques
You can't just stop at one pin and never create a pin for that post ever again. Pinterest loves for you to create newer pins. By creating new pins for older blog posts or products it'll help you with gaining new traffic.
If you're not into designing, Canva has plenty of Pinterest templates for you to choose from. All you need to do is edit your text, add your photos and you're good to go.
Add Attention-Grabbing Headlines
You want people to notice your pins right? Recently Pinterest added a new title feature. Not only can you add fulfilling titles in your pins, but now you get the opportunity to create awesome titles for that pin.

How many times should you be pinning?
People tend to question how much times they should pin on Pinterest daily. For me, I tend to pin 10-20 blog posts throughout the day (manually). 5 Of my own and 5 or 15 other pins to my boards.
If you don't have the time to manually pin, you can use Tailwind to help you schedule your pins using the SmartLoop feature.

Create EYE-catching pins
- The required pin size (as of 2020) is 1000 x 1500 pixels (px). For infographics, it's 800 x 2000 pixels (px).
- Have at least 3-4 brand colours for your pins. You can go on Pinterest to look up colour samples just by typing in "colour palette".
- Don't add clutter in your images. Make them minimal as possible- this mean more white space. If you need to make your pins unique to your brand, add in a few shapes, graphics or lines.
- Use at least 1-3 typefaces and bolded fonts. You want your pins to stand out as much as possible. Some ideas of mix typefaces are;
- bolded/heavy san-serifs and calligraphy writing
- bold over medium/light
- or even san-serifs mixed with serifs
- For the colour of your fonts; you can use at least 1-2 of your branding colours mixed with black and/or white.
Alter your Pin's meta-description
Descriptions in your pins are VERY important. These can only fit 500 characters. However, the first 50-60 characters are most likely to show up in people's feeds. You can read more about it here.
What do you add in your descriptions? add relevant keywords. For example, if you're a food blogger, add keywords from the recipe. If you're a fashion blogger, add the name of the item or product.
There are two ways for me when writing up a description. I usually start off my pins with a rhetorical question and then go on to explain what I talk about in my post and end it was a quick "click me now!". At times, I usually just use a paragraph from my post's introduction and then add the related hashtags.
Hashtags are fairly new to Pinterest as they installed this feature last year. Here's how you can find hashtags.
You can add general hashtags in your description rather than memes, commentary or jokes. For example #selfcaretips rather than #ilovetoselfcareonasunday.
Don't know where to look for hashtags? you can find keywords when you search up your niche or topic in the search bar.
Other ways to look for hashtags is using Google Adwords/Planner.
Use Tailwind Tribes
I can't stress you out enough when I say "use Tailwind Tribes". I get more of my pins shared there than with Pinterest groups. Yes, group boards nowadays have been slacking (unless you find the right group board).
How it works is you find a group, join it, and follow the Tribe rules. Then you add your pin to the tribe and reciprocate by adding your group pins' to your scheduler.

Make sure your pins are still relevant
If you've deleted your post or edited the old URL, make sure to check the links and add the new ones in.
With affiliate links, sometimes they can expire. This includes links that have limited offers or coupons. It's best to check on those pins and change links asap.
You don't have to do this to pins that don't get a re-share but if you find an older pin that does, make sure to edit it so that you don't lose out on traffic.
For the evergreen pins that revolve the year, make sure to create new pins for those but add the new year so that it's still relevant again for the next year. (Note: you may need to update that post with new info if you're planning on reusing it).

Tl;dr (too long; don't read) - don't spam. If you want to share post multiple times and not get reported as "spam", use Tailwind. This tool allows you to spread out your pins so that you don't pin the same pins twice. Yes, sharing the same pins in the same day can be considered "spamming".
